When I was looking for a place to buy tires, and friend recommended that I check out Yelp.com to see what people had to say about the local tire stores in the area. The reviews were rated well so I gave them a try.

The first place I go for reviews, especially for local purchases, are my friends and neighbors.
I got some great advice on what and where to buy my new car, as well as where not to buy. Next time you need tires, call me.
I also look at reviews in Consumer Reports and other similar trusted places. Too many times, public on line reviews can from folks with agendas.
